La Piena del Torrente Cervo vista dal drone • Ottobre 2020

Following the bad weather and the exceptional rainfall that occurred in the night between 2 and 3 October 2020, the river Cervo, in the province of Biella, Italy, reached a particularly worrying state, also generating abundant damage. Here is a flight with the drone over the areas of Ponte della Maddalena, Ponte di Chiavazza and Ponte della Tangenziale. From the Ponte della Maddalena you can appreciate the strength and the impetuosity with which the stream flows between the narrow spaces of its riverbed. From the Ponte di Chiavazza it can be seen northbound that the Hydro structure of Città dell'Arte - Fondazione Pistoletto no longer exists, the stream has taken it away; while towards the south beyond the bridge itself, you can see how many trunks the stream has brought, laying them, cleaned of every leaf, together with a copious sandy deposit. Not only that: in the images from the Ponte della Tangenziale you can see how much the riverbed has widened passing over the cultivated fields. #badweather #biella #flood
