THE PAUSE - CITY FRAMES | Winner of Student Short Film for 27th NOSPLAN | SVNIT |

THE PAUSE - CITY FRAMES is a short film created for the 27th NOSPLAN Annual Convention held at Parul University, Vadodara (Jan 2026). Directed by: Raj Gor and Stuti Upadhyay The Cast: Om Gamit, Subhadip Biswas, Shraddha Bhandekar, Varun Gajjar, Raj Gor, Prateek Sharma, Rutvik Shukla, Rahul Ghoniya, Special Thanks to Bench Lifters - Aswin Sasidharan and Pratik Mehta This silent short fiilm observes the city through a single, ordinary object - a street bench. Fixed in place yet constantly surrounded by movement, the bench becomes a quiet witness to everyday urban life. People arrive, pause, occupy, and leave, each interaction revealing repeating actions and pauses of the street. Without dialogue or staged action, the film allows gestures, pauses, and absences to speak for themselves. As time passes, the bench absorbs layers of use and meaning — rest, waiting, interruption, and neglect. What appears neutral begins to reflect the unequal ways in which public space is accessed and experienced. Through repitition and stillness, the film highlights how small urban elements silently shape behaviour, comfort, and belonging. By focusing on an overlooked piece of street Infrastructure, the film invites viewers to notice how everyday spaces hold stories that often go unseen, yet define the lived experience of the city. #ThePause #indianshortfilms #UrbanPlanningFilm #svnit #NOSPLAN2026 #StudentFilmmaking #SocialAwarenessFilm #UrbanLifeStories #CityNarratives #ShortFilmIndia #indiefilmmakers
