[The CCP's Tyrannical Suppression and Persecution of Christians] Episode 006: The Blood and Tears of an Elderly Christian – A 79-Year-Old Christian Dies from Persecution for Upholding Her Faith 2024 marked the first year of the CCP's "Three-Year Offensive" against The Church of Almighty God. From the beginning of the year, arrests of Christians across the country have been relentless. On May 23, 2024, a unified arrest operation was launched in Bozhou City, Anhui Province. 79-year-old Qin Mei and 21 other Christians were arrested in their homes for their faith. After being detained in a detention center, the staff repeatedly forced Qin Mei and others to sign "three statements" (a guarantee, a repentance statement, and a statement of renunciation) to renounce their faith. Qin Mei and the others refused to yield and were subjected to physical punishment, forced to sit on a hard bed for thirteen or fourteen hours a day, required to sit cross-legged, with hands on knees, and remain upright. Qin Mei's dentures were also confiscated, making it difficult for her to eat. The prolonged physical punishment proved unbearable for her elderly and frail body. Just 21 days later, Qin Mei died from torture in the detention center. Besides Qin Mei's martyrdom, other surviving Christians were also tortured and plagued by illness by the CCP.
