Repairing a hydraulic leak on the Caterpillar Mini Excavator

My 2001 caterpillar 302.5 mini excavator has a slow drip, leak. This leak turned out to be the longest hydraulic repair I’ve had to do on the machine in 20+ years. The leak was so small but continuous that it took days to find. The hoses and fittings were in the very hardest place to see and reach so far! Definitely a learning lesson on how the machine is plumbed hydraulically. I am very happy that I did not have to repair this at a job site. I am very glad I noticed it when I did, and had time in between jobs to replace the leaking parts. Of course it was the hottest and most humid days of the summer so far!
