The Rubió i Tudurí Foundation presents a new session of the Constitutional Dialogues series entitled “Transition – Democracy – Europe: Political Milestones in Spain,” presented by Dr. Ludger Gruber, director in Spain of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation (KAS). The lecture analyzes the process of the Spanish Transition, democratic consolidation, and Spain's relationship with the European project, focusing on the main political events that marked the transition from Francoism to a parliamentary democracy integrated into Europe. The Konrad Adenauer Foundation, historically linked to German Christian democracy, is an international non-profit organization dedicated to promoting democracy, the rule of law, human rights, and the social market economy. Present in more than 120 countries, it has been active in Spain since the late 1970s. During the Transition, the foundation played a significant role in supporting the development of a moderate, pro-European political center, collaborating in the articulation of democratic forces linked to Adolfo Suárez's future UCD party, with the aim of contributing to institutional stability and Spain's integration into the European democratic model. Dr. Ludger Gruber reflects on the values ​​that underpin contemporary democracies and on the importance of citizen participation, political consensus, and European commitment in an international context marked by new social and political challenges.
