Mindfulness based on the Buddhist tradition: Theory and practice: https://amzn.to/3ulqx3b Zen in the Market Square: https://amzn.to/3UBG0Xh The protagonist of our next story is Dokushô (pronounced with the stress on the "ô") Villalba, the first Zen Buddhist monk in Spain. He was born and raised in Utrera (Seville), in a poor family, although his childhood was happy. He remembers, he told me, the sound of the raindrops falling from the roof into buckets when it rained in his two-room house. Dokushô Villalba went to Paris and Japan to receive the training he cherishes. Upon his return, he founded the Luz Serena Monastery in 1989 with much effort, money, and the cooperation of the community. From the moment we contacted him until we returned from his home, it was an exquisite collaboration. We asked him to let us "shadow" him, to observe his routines, his reflections, and the dynamics of the monastery's resident community. Music: "Honshirabe" by Horacio Curtis #OtherPeoplesLives
