In Rome, on Via di Settebagni, the first Italian temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, better known as Mormons, was built and inaugurated. Granite, marble, cutting-edge technology, a genealogical data center, a chapel, and guesthouses are all part of the construction. The 6-hectare religious center surrounding the Temple took seven years to build on land purchased in 1999. The cost? Undisclosed.
