One of One History was made on Thursday night in Mililani, as the Moanalua Na Menehune and Mililani Trojans squared off in the first ever OIA Girls Flag Football Championship. Being the first two teams to make history by being reach the final for the first inaugural year, there would be a lot of emotion and excitement hoping to be the one who lifts the first ever plaque. Both arriving to the big stage undefeated, it would come down to who kept their perfect record alive, and who gets the higher seed for the HHSAA Tournament. The Lady Menes would strike fast on defense, as they would get back to back interceptions from the jump to put themselves on the board early. Making her defensive presence, Lady Menes Freshman, Iaorana “Lofa” Simanu, would be the key player to the Na Menehune victory, forcing the 3 INT alongside having 7 receptions for 70 yards. Lady Menes QB, Zaira Sugui, would also be another key piece to their victory, as she recorded 3 TD’s on a 19-27 Completion/Attempts, and threw for 208 yards. Defense wins championships and it definitely showed for the Menes as the Moanalua Na Menehune are named your 2025 OIA Girls Flag Football Champions.
