La PIEDRA cansada/CUSCO- PERU

The Tired Stone is a famous legend from Inca tradition related to the construction of the Sacsayhuamán fortress, near the city of Cusco. According to the legend, during the construction of Sacsayhuamán, enormous blocks of stone were transported from distant quarries. One of these stones was so large and heavy that thousands of men dragged it with ropes. Along the way, the stone grew weary from so much effort, stopped, and began to weep blood. That is why it received the name Tired Stone. The story goes that the stone never reached its destination and was left abandoned in the place where it is currently located. The inhabitants of the region consider it a symbol of the enormous effort undertaken by the Incas to build their monuments.
