Yilin Wang: Pneuma | American Wild Ensemble | World Premiere

Pneuma for flute, clarinet, horn, violin, viola, violoncello, and percussion Composed by Yilin Wang Performed by the American Wild Ensemble Pneuma takes its title from the ancient Greek word for breath, wind, and spirit. The piece explores air as both a physical force and an invisible presence, moving through fragile instrumental textures, unstable resonance, and sudden bursts of energy. Breath sounds, shifting timbres, sliding gestures, and resonant percussion evoke traces brought by the wind, briefly revealed, transformed, and carried away.
