Buddha Wakening live at MorYork Gallery, Los Angeles, May 31, 2026. An improvised electroacoustic duo performance featuring live looping, circuit bending, cello, guitar, voice, synths, percussion, drums, and slapstick instruments. Drawing on Jeff Boynton’s Bent City circuit-bending work and Rejyna’s exploratory live looping approach, the performance unfolds as a completely abstract sonic environment where no two moments repeat and nothing is left fully expected. Rejyna's and Jeff's loopers are all all synchronized via MIDI. The result is part ritual, part experiment, part dream-state collision of sound. Audiences are invited to surrender to surprise, because the brain responds powerfully to novelty and musical unpredictability, linking unfamiliar sound with reward, attention, and neuroplastic change.
