Why Vladimir Putin's presidency began with tragic apartment bombings?
Why Vladimir Putin's presidency began with tragic apartment bombings in Russian cities? The year 1999 in Russian contemporary history is the time when the whole country lived in fear. Fear for one’s own safety even at home. That autumn witnessed a number of apartment building bombings in Russian cities. These terrorist attacks claimed several hundred lives. This topic is sensitive and is not popular to discuss in modern Russia. While filming this video, we received a record number of refusals to give an interview. We were told this topic was too dangerous to discuss. Why so? One of the versions says that FSS (Federal Security Service) might have been involved in the bombings. This version occurred after a failed bombing in Ryazan. Our team never aims to provide ready-made decisions, neither are we involved in politics. Our purpose is to provide you with facts and evidence. We believe it is wrong to have dark and unclear episodes in our history that terrify people to this day.
