最高速度320km/hで感じる高速車両たちの違い フランクフルト→パリ ICEの旅【#迷列車で行こう海外編】現地突撃取材
Join us as we journey from Frankfurt, Germany, to Paris, France, on the renowned high-speed train, the ICE, originating from the picturesque town of Saarbrücken, straddling the Franco-German border. Brace yourselves as we embark on the thrilling experience of traveling at a top speed of 320 km/h! Initially, the ICE aimed to implement its 320 km/h run within Germany, but due to escalating track and maintenance costs, this goal never came to fruition. Currently, the ICE reserves its ultra-high-speed travels for routes into France, clocking over 300 km/h on its approach to Paris. Not to be outdone, France's TGV also dashes through the same routes at a brisk 320 km/h. Seize this chance with us as we compare firsthand experiences of the motion and noise levels between the ICE and TGV during these ultra-high-speed runs! Moreover, when talking about 320 km/h speeds, we can't exclude Japan's bullet train, the Shinkansen "E5 Series Hayabusa." We took the opportunity to ride the Hayabusa, experiencing Japan's fastest domestic train run, and we will deliver our unique insights, adding a comparison with the TGV and ICE. The results from our comparison? A resounding victory for the E5 Series Shinkansen! Even at full speed, the Hayabusa remarkably minimized oscillation, and the noise level within the passenger cabin was impressively low. In contrast, Europe's high-speed trains were notable for their wind noise, enhancing the sensation of speed. This distinction is no surprise, given that the Shinkansen incorporates state-of-the-art innovations like electronically controlled active suspension systems. Meanwhile, European high-speed trains tend to feature more straightforward designs, prioritizing durability and reliability over intricate electronic control mechanisms. But why are European trains noisier? While looser noise regulations play a part, the story doesn't end there. Operational and manufacturing constraints dictate a design inherently prone to higher noise levels. For instance, the Shinkansen, designed to reduce air resistance and noise, features an extensively long and intricately shaped nose. However, replicating this design in Europe isn't feasible, not due to technological gaps, but because of differing operational methodologies. Moreover, examining various aspects of the trains and contemplating the ride's comfort led us to appreciate the cultural and philosophical differences between countries in their approach to train travel. Behind these differences are the engineers who develop the trains, the crew who operate them, and the passengers with their daily commuting demands. Each group brings its own set of expectations, resulting in a blend of challenges, compromises, and fascinating innovations. There's no simple 'better or worse' here; the intrigue lies in understanding these diverse perspectives. This exploration became an engaging aspect of producing our video, where we delve deep into analysis and provide comprehensive commentary. Join us in unraveling the intriguing tales where European high-speed rail and the Shinkansen intersect. Enjoy the ride!
