Foreign fruits in the country's soil! ========================== The Jessore, Chuadanga and Jhenaidah regions have long been known for their crop diversity in the country's agriculture. Entrepreneur Sajal Ahmed's exceptional fruit garden has been established in Manikpur village of Jibannagar upazila of Chuadanga district. Here, he is researching different varieties of fruit trees collected from home and abroad - his main goal is to determine how suitable a fruit is for production in the soil and climate of Bangladesh. There are about five hundred varieties of fruit throughout the garden, including malta, orange, and jackfruit. The orange-colored fruit garden in the winter sun creates a different experience to see. Behind this initiative is not only a commercial idea, but also a dream of enriching domestic fruit cultivation by reducing import dependence. However, the risk in cultivating new fruits is not small. Without market management, production knowledge and alternative planning, large investments can lead to losses—that is what Sajal Ahmed has highlighted from his own experience.
