A Closer Look at Ocean Alkalinity Enhancement

This webinar series presented by the Coastal Acidification Networks along the West Coast and Alaska as well as California Ocean Science Trust is intended to deliver the best available information on marine carbon dioxide removal (mCDR) and to explore concepts related to coastal ocean carbon. Through this series of co-designed webinars, participants will gain a better understanding of mCDR technologies, limitations, risks, and learn how to become engaged. This webinar will provide an overview of the science of ocean alkalinity enhancement, how it works, why it’s receiving attention as a marine carbon dioxide removal (mCDR) strategy, and potential impacts being studied. The speakers will include: Dr. Debora Iglesias-Rodriguez, UC Santa Barbara Dr. Burke Hales, Oregon State University Dr. Andrew Dickson, Scripps Institution of Oceanography
