INCHGOWER Single Malt Scotch Whisky Distilled: November 15, 2010 Bottled: November 18, 2025 Cask finish: medium peated Finished: 1463 days in ex-Staoisha Port casks 56.0% ABV 309 bottles Contents: 0.5l Nose: The initial taste reveals red fruits such as sour cherry and blackcurrant, accompanied by grape skin and a cool, dry note. The smoke is clearly discernible, yet restrained: phenolic, slightly medicinal, with hints of damp ash and wet stone. It gives the nose structure without masking the fruit. Beneath this lie nutty malt, toasted grain, and a subtle salinity. Despite its 56% ABV, the overall impression is calm and composed. Taste: On the palate, the whisky is initially rich and mouth-filling, with dark honey, a herbal note, and port-soaked berries, but it quickly tightens. Dark chocolate, grape seeds, and dry oak add tension. The wine cask provides structure rather than sweetness, the peat smoke remains dry and mineral, acting more as a guide than a dominant element. A salty note keeps the focus firmly on the spirit. Finish: The finish is long and dry, with peppery oak, dark fruit peels, spice, and a subtle ashy salinity that transitions into a cool, slightly mentholated aftertaste.
