1,000 kilometers across Germany in an electric car – and you keep hearing the same old prejudices: too little range, constant charging, and far too complicated for long distances. For this test, I drove my VW ID.4 almost 1,000 kilometers. The unusual thing: my car doesn't have automatic charging planning. I had to plan the charging stops myself and decide where to charge while on the road. How often did I actually have to charge? How long did the stops take? What does electricity currently cost on the road? And is long-distance driving with an electric car really stressful?
