Saint Paisios on Women
Saint Paisios of Mount Athos is one of the most popular and most beloved Orthodox elders of the contemporary era. Though he lived as a monk on the Holy Mountain, secluded from the world and from the presence of women, who are not allowed to set foot on the mountain, he nonetheless cared deeply about the struggles and spiritual growth of women, just as he did with men. His letters, conversations, advice, counsels, and comfort show that Saint Pasiosio understood both the pain and the strength of women in a profoundly spiritual manner. Although not exclusively, he addressed women with great reverence, often pointing to the Theotokos as the ultimate example of what a woman should emulate: humble, strong, prayerful, and full of Divine Grace. #female #religion #faith #essay #model #rolemodel #orthodoxsaints #saint #saints #christian #christianity #orthodoxy #church #bible #women #opinion #gender #genderequality #genderstudies #christianstudy #traditional #eastern #society #heritage #christianwomen #family #traditionalvalues #west #usa #orthodox #easternorthodox #struggle #improvement #suffering #female #proverbs31 #proverbs31woman #marriage #virgin #nun #monastic #monk #monastery #help #advice #womanempowerment
