Maytag, Kenmore, WhirlPool Clicking Lock Fix

UNPLUG YOUR WASHER FIRST!!! Click "Show More" for more details! Is your washer broken? Not completing its cycles due to a repeated clicking noise? Its probably the locking mechanism that is broken. This is the information / video you can't find anywhere else, I looked. Don't order a new lock for $60 and have a technician replace it. Fix it yourself! Tools needed: 1/4 inch socket or flathead Small flathead to pry open case to lock Some tape Hex screwdriver if you want to take off the latch and affix it permanently (highly recommended). The fix is just removing the metal clip/tab that becomes detached and then making sure all the other parts are attached correctly. In my case the metal tab and plastic piece were both detached. I removed the metal tab and reattached everything as shown. Now the washer/lock is fixed, and goes through all cycles thinking its locked when it actually is not locked.
