Orchestral Suite (Part 2) from Sketch to Orchestration. A beginners guide to writing for orchestra.

Writing music, putting together a track, a recording, writing a song, a pop song, a folk song, writing a musical theatre song or even an orchestral work, ballet or full-scale opera all involves the same disciplines. If you don’t have a music theory background, you might think this is beyond what you can achieve – but, I believe you couldn’t be further from the truth. Modern recording software and techniques make it as easy as it’s ever been to create, inspiring and well recorded music in whatever musical genre you’re into. In this video we look at some basic music theory including an easy way to identify chords if you're just starting out, my workflow, some orchestration basics and a look at the libraries I have used - Spitfire Audio's Albion ONE and BBCSO Core.
