Aerodrums Review (Turning Air Drumming Into Actual Sound)

What if someone made airdrumming transmit midi data somehow? Well someone did, and it's called Aerodrums. This video is my review on this very interesting (but not perfect) product. It's kinda interesting. This isn’t a legit practice tool or anything. One thing you figure out right away is that it actually takes practice to be good at air drumming. No rebound. It takes awhile to get good at hitting the imaginary drums correctly. There were lots of times I accidently hit the cymbal when I was trying to hit a tom. The good news is that you get a real time representation of what you are hitting on your laptop screen. It's a animation of your sticks in real time. It's kinda fun to play actually. And there are a handful of different kits to choose from, they even sound decent. The program was almost a full GB download. I’m imagining this as the perfect product for the business man that is constantly traveling, but is suffering from a bad case of drum fever. He just NEEDS to play, and electronic drums aren’t portable enough or quiet enough. You could play this in a hotel, it's completely silent. This would also make a great gift for christmas or a birthday. Or maybe your neighbors literally stand with their ears against the wall just waiting for you to play your electronic set just a hair to loudly so they can complain. AirDrumming is make not noise.. Except for you tapping your feet against the ground. It's not a good product for me, but there are people out there that might benefit from this. As long as you’re willing to pay that $200 price tag.
