Completed a Master's course in Physics at the Graduate School of Science and Engineering, Chuo University. Moved to the Netherlands in the summer of 2002, and has been based in Germany since the following year. He covered European football, focusing primarily on Japanese players such as Naohiro Takahara and Junichi Inamoto. He returned to Japan in February 2009 and currently contributes to publications such as Number*, *BRODY*, and *footballista*. He has authored numerous books, including *You Can Change How You Watch Football in One Day (Toyo Keizai Inc.). His most recent book is Football and Geopolitics (Wani Books).
