Prospecting Unclaimed Land for Gold | Exploring New Ground & Finding My First Speck

Can unclaimed ground still hold gold? In this episode of OSMO Exploration, I visit two different locations to explore/ prospect unclaimed land and search for signs of mineralization. Armed with a rock hammer, metal detector, gold pan, and field tools, I explore the geology, sample promising areas, and test the ground for evidence of precious metals. This trip is focused on reconnaissance prospecting—evaluating terrain, identifying favorable geological features, and looking for clues that could justify further exploration. In this video: • Prospecting two separate locations • Exploring unclaimed ground • Geological observations and rock sampling • Metal detecting for mineralized targets • Gold panning and concentrate testing • Evaluating exploration potential While the gold count wasn't high, every discovery starts somewhere—and finding even a single speck of gold is a positive indication that the area warrants a closer look. Follow OSMO Exploration as I document real-world prospecting, mineral exploration, claim development, geology, and small-scale mining projects throughout British Columbia and beyond. What would you do next if you found gold in a new area?
