My Tips for Fast Isolating & Eyelash Extension Application

In this LashJoy Academy tutorial, leading lash educator and LashJoy CEO, Joy Crossingham, demonstrates her custom method for isolating and applying eyelash extensions EFFICIENTLY. By working from the clients forehead and using a unique tweezer grip this makes isolating lashes much easier and also saves A LOT of time during the application. There is no fluffing around trying to find a lash or playing with the extension after it’s been applied. Every movement made is deliberate and concise to ensure perfect application every time. If you want to decrease the time it takes you to apply full sets or complete your refills, perfecting your isolating is a great place to start! As we often say "to change the big things, focus on fixing the small things". Isolating is the most important skill to master as a Lash Stylist in our opinion, get this right and you’ll become faster (allowing you to see more clients each day), more accurate which helps to improve lash retention and decreases stickies, and you will also have a solid foundation when it comes time to learn Volume Lashing. Some tips to remember: 1. When isolating, always start at the BASE of the natural lashes with almost closed tweezers. 2. Multiple anchor points will help ensure you’re stable and can apply accurately without shaking. I.e. elbows flat on the bed, wrist on the side of the head and pinky finger lightly on the nose. 3. When applying, attach and hold for up to 3 seconds and “baby sit” the wet lash until you’ve picked up your next extension to apply.
