Our 48' Kadey Krogen Whaleback Trawler is for Sale. It's a bittersweet time to say good bye to her and look forward to new adventures RVing. She is a very special boat. MV Cetus is a Whaleback, hull #12 (1997) Two bedroom layout with the largest master stateroom and master head of any Whalebacks. This design was incorporated in the original build to allow easier access and normal bed height. This layout also added an elevator in lieu of the steep stairways found on the traditional whalebacks. Cetus also came with a hydraulic stern platform which allows a person in a wheelchair to access the boat. This design is perfect for those too with furry friends that want easy access. We have removed the platform and have it in storage. A factory swim platform is now installed. The larger platform can be easily reinstalled as all mounts and hydraulics remain in place. Several of the nice updates over the years: Entire boat painted with Awlcraft paint. Pilot house wooden doors replaced with metal doors. Updated electronics (Garmin) and two new transducers (2025) New Northern Lights Genset (1800 hrs) New Yanmar 27hp Wing Engine (32 hrs). Only a few Whalebacks have the safety of a wing engine. Very reliable and economical main engine is a Caterpillar 3208na 210 hp (10021.5 hrs). We just had an oil sample with perfect results. These low horsepower continuous run engines are known to achieve 20-30k hours with proper service. Victron Inverter/charger and new AGM house batteries this last winter. We are preparing for solar panels. Air conditioning compressors (2) new in 2018 Bottom paint (Sea Hawk system) 2025 We recently left Key West and are heading to the Tennessee River ( Huntsville Al )for the summer, and can meet along the way to show the boat.
