Bangladesh Cultural Night | Lisbon Project

Some evenings, a room full of strangers becomes a family. This was one of those evenings. We gathered in Lisbon to celebrate Bangladeshi culture through food, music, and the stories that travel with people across oceans. What happened was something bigger: Portuguese neighbors grew curious, new friendships were born, and Lisbon felt a little more like home for the people who needed it most. This is what integration looks like in real life: People, around a table, choosing to know each other. At Lisbon Project, we have spent 9 years walking alongside migrants and refugees in Portugal, building a community where everyone belongs. Esta foi uma dessas noites. Reunimo-nos em Lisboa para celebrar a cultura do Bangladesh através da comida, da música e das histórias que viajam com as pessoas através dos oceanos. O que aconteceu foi ainda maior: vizinhos portugueses ficaram curiosos, nasceram novas amizades, e Lisboa ficou um pouco mais parecida com casa para quem mais precisava. É assim que a integração de migrantes em Portugal acontece na vida real: Pessoas, à volta de uma mesa, a escolherem conhecer-se. No Lisbon Project, passámos 8 anos ao lado de migrantes e refugiados em Portugal, a construir uma comunidade onde todos pertencem.
