The Thule 7105 Evo Clamp are designed to be used in conjunction with a vehicle specific Thule Kit and enable a pair of Thule roof bars to be installed onto vehicles with a normal roof, i.e. without any external roof bar fixing points or factory fitted roof rails. The mounting tutorial shows the contents of the Thule Evo Clamp foot pack, Thule Kit and a pair of Evo WingBars. Thule Evo WingBars are used in this demonstration, although any type of Thule roof bars can be used, including Thule Evo SquareBars, Evo WingBars, Evo SlideBars and Evo ProBars. To identify the correct Thule Kit and length of roof bars to use, please refer to our Thule Roof Bar Guide, see link below. Each of the four feet are labelled using stickers and the corresponding bracket and pad from the Thule Kit are connected to each foot. The rubber strips and measuring guide are installed into the roof bar before the feet are slid into each end of the bars by pressing a tab inside the foot. Referring to the Kit user manual, the measuring guide is set to the required position on the scale and the foot is slid up to meet this. Note, the front and rear bar foot positions are often different as shown on the Kit user manual. The roof bars are rested on the vehicle and positioned according to the specific measurements given in the Kit user manual. The included torque Allen key is used to tighten each of the four feet half way, on each, and then tightened until the torque click is reached. This ensures each foot is tightened equally and the rack is not pulled over to one side. The locking cover is placed over the face of the foot for added security. The slots on the underside of the Evo WingBar are closed using a piece of rubber trimmed to size. Check the roof bars are securely fitted by giving each bar a firm shake.
