Dr. Joe Diamond on "Searching for Tjerck DeWitt in the Old Dutch Church Cemetery, Kingston, NY"
Dr. Joseph Diamond talks about his 2022 archaeological dig at Kingston, NY's Old Dutch Church Cemetery, initiated by descendants of Tjerck Claessen DeWitt. His team found the graves of Tjerck and his son, Andres, as well as other of their relatives. The DeWitt Family Association is now having DNA analysis and a facial reconstruction done. The remains will then be re-interred. This is a great presentation by the area's premier anthropologist on an important 17th century Kingston family that also shows what a dig of this type entails.
