Amid unprecedented security measures, the trial of cocaine kingpin Ridouan Taghi began Monday in the heavily secured Dutch courthouse De Bunker. Taghi, the Dutchman, Europe's most wanted criminal for years, managed to stay under the radar of the authorities for a long time. Until one of his former accomplices, Nabil B., talked him into being hanged. Taghi's response? Barely six days after the confession, he had his brother murdered. Nabil B.'s lawyer was also executed in cold blood. Because "talk, go" is the motto. After a frenzied escape on a jet ski when the authorities were closing in on him, Taghi, after wandering around, ended up in Dubai. He was able to hide there for years, until a single garbage bin finally did him in. He was extradited to the Netherlands and is now asking for a life sentence.
