I bought a Wizard Computer from 1993 and now its my EDC
Can a 1993 Sharp Wizard OZ-5500 still fit into a modern workflow in 2026? In this video, I test out the Sharp Wizard OZ-5500 - the retro pocket organizer famously featured on Seinfeld - and see whether this old-school PDA can still work as an offline productivity tool today. I walk through the built-in calendar, to-do list, memos, address book, expense tracker, calculator, full QWERTY keyboard, and what it’s actually like to use one of these instead of a smartphone. Then things get nerdy. I also show how I figured out a way to sync the Sharp Wizard with modern tools like Google Calendar, Wrike, and Airtable using a Windows XP computer, RuppLynx, CSV files, a proprietary Sharp cable, and a little bit of Python scripting. This is part retro tech review, part digital minimalism experiment, part ADHD rabbit hole, and part “can this old thing actually still be useful?” If you’re into vintage tech, offline productivity, dumbphones, analog tools, low-tech workflows, or weird devices from the 90s, this one is for you.
