Volendam is a stronghold of right-wing populists, where many mourn the passing of the old days: fishmongers don't want wind turbines, farmers don't want climate regulations, and young people like Jack and Donna can't find affordable housing despite having full-time jobs. Rapid change, failed policies – more coexistence than cooperation: Parissa, a young woman with Afghan roots, lives in the prefabricated housing estate of Amsterdam-Zuidoost.
