Breaking all the (YouTube) Rules

You weren’t supposed to see this video yet. It was marked public by accident with no thumbnail, the date as a title and no description. Within the first hour, your comments about bravery and authenticity started rolling in—and I realized that maybe the "unmasked" Jen is exactly who needs to show up here. Turning 50 is a milestone, but it’s also a reckoning. For many of us in Gen X, we’ve spent decades in survival mode. we’ve become experts at "handling it," maintaining composure, and shoving our emotions down to keep the wheels turning. We’ve lived in a constant state of nervous system activation—stuck in freeze or fawn—while navigating the physiological shifts of menopause and the weight of midlife expectations. In this video, I’m sharing why I believe the greatest act of bravery isn’t "blowing up your life," but evolving within it. We see so many "midlife reinvention" stories about people quitting their jobs, leaving their families, or starting over from scratch. But for most of us, that isn't the path. True Gen X Midlife Reinvention is about: Extracting the wisdom from the life you’ve already built. Moving from survival to integrity and joy. Learning nervous system regulation instead of just "powering through." Taking off the mask and meeting yourself where you are. The world doesn't need us to disappear into the background; the world needs our groundedness and our collective wisdom. If you’re ready to move forward with curiosity, optimism, and intention, I’d love for you to join this community. Let’s figure out "What now?" instead of "What if?" In this video, we discuss: The reality of turning 50 and the "mask" we wear. Why "blowing up your life" isn't the only way to change. Gen X women, menopause, and the physiological push for change. How to stop living in a state of sympathetic nervous system activation. Redefining the second half of life with purpose and peace.
