Didn't plan on making this a video but it is amazing to see large scale coal power production in person. Coal use for power generation in the US continues to decline. Gavin, the first power plant (with the nuclear-like cooling tower) is the largest coal-fired power facility in Ohio, and one of the largest in the US, capable of powering two million homes. Kyger is after and a bit smaller but still impressive. These plants are along the Ohio River. Coal is delivered by barge and burned in large ovens. Steam is created. Generators spin.
