How did Tavito die? Tavito was a Brazilian singer, songwriter, and publicist, known primarily for creating songs that marked the history of MPB (Brazilian Popular Music). His most notable compositions include "Rua Ramalhete" and "Casa no Campo." Luís Otávio de Melo Carvalho, better known as Tavito, was born on January 26, 1948, in Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais. From a young age, young Tavito was surrounded by music in his home. His father was a music lover and had a habit of collecting vinyl records from a wide variety of artists of the time. At the age of 9, he studied at Colégio Santa Helena and was known for always singing during breaks. He was experienced and promising, and this year, he met and met social media stars. However, his desire to pursue his passion for music overcame these adversities. Living in Rio de Janeiro, the musician began frequenting places where other musicians also frequented. It was at the Sachinhas bar that Tavito made his best friends, who helped him take an important step in his career. Among these people were Zé Rodrix and Ivan Lins. In the years that followed, he would release three more albums, one per year. Although none of his songs achieved the success of "Rua Ramalhete," the albums are highly regarded by MPB enthusiasts. Despite recording albums, the musician truly enjoyed being behind the scenes of music production, and in the early 1980s, he founded his production company, Zurana. The production company was created primarily to produce jingles and commercial soundtracks. As a producer, he was able to translate his talent for popular music into the world of advertising, creating pieces that are remembered and appreciated by many. One of the most successful jingles of his career was "Coração Verde e Amarelo." This jingle was created for Rede Globo during the 1994 World Cup, and its immediate success made it a symbol of Brazilians' support and passion for the Brazilian National Football Team. He continued working as a producer and musician during the following years, becoming increasingly sought after for commercials. In 2009, he released an album again after almost 30 years without releasing a single. The album was titled "Tudo" (Everything), and five years later, he released his last album, "Mineiro." During his treatment, he underwent intensive care and was admitted to the Sancta Maggiore Hospital in São Paulo, but the consequences were tragic for his health. After surgery, he began having difficulty eating and speaking, requiring feeding through a tube. Tavito died shortly thereafter. Tavito died on February 26, 2019, of oral cancer. He was 71 years old. Tavito's wake took place at the Araçá Cemetery in the West Zone of São Paulo. The ceremony was marked by moments of nostalgia and gratitude, with many sharing stories and memories about Tavito's career and life. The publicist's body was cremated at the Vila Alpina Cemetery in the East Zone of São Paulo.
