Amor aos pets: a relação entre seres humanos e animais na História

Our relationship with pets began in prehistory. The domestication of wolves evolved over time and received varied social and cultural influences. What do pets have to do with the Venetian School? Why were the ancestral felines of cats deified in Ancient Egypt? And do you know when we started bringing pets into our homes? One of the phenomena that led us to this is recorded in the 18th century: urban middle-class families began to imitate the nobility, who flaunted beautiful dogs in their mansions. The love of pets also marked the Victorian Era: Queen Victoria (great-great-grandmother of Queen Elizabeth), who reigned from 1873 to 1901, had dozens of dogs. For one of them, "Sharp," a collie, the queen had a tombstone made. In the tribute, she wrote that her beloved pet was more sincere than all the people who surrounded her. In this video, I discuss some historical facts, from the Neolithic Revolution to the present day, to understand what led us to adopt anthropocentric behaviors towards animals. After all, does pet love have limits? Does it have to? Don't forget to like! Have you subscribed to the channel yet?
