A true prophet is a faithful advocate who does not compromise with human desires or the trends of the times, but conveys God's word without addition or subtraction, solely in accordance with His divine calling. Because they denounce complacent religious hypocrisy and urge genuine repentance, they inevitably face persecution and solitude from vested interests and the masses. However, the image of these individuals, who boldly defend the truth while trusting in God's sovereignty even in the face of death threats, foreshadows the later ministry of the suffering Jesus Christ.
