Cadas Pangeran Jalur Bawah ‼️ Sumedang Bandung

Cadas Pangeran is the name of a highway connecting Sumedang with Bandung. This highway was built by Governor General Herman Willem Daendels in 1809. It was part of a network of postal roads that stretched from Anyer to Panarukan. Cadas Pangeran is named after Prince Kusumadinata IX, Regent of Sumedang, better known as Prince Kornel. Prince Kornel protested Daendels's arbitrariness in the road's construction, as many workers died from starvation and disease. The meeting between Prince Kornel and Daendels is immortalized in a monument located at the entrance to Cadas Pangeran Road. During the meeting, Prince Kornel accepted Daendels' handshake with his left hand, while his right hand was about to draw the keris at his waist.
