Failed PCV Valve On Magnum 5.2L V8 - Possible Cause of Pinging

Here's some info that may be helpful for those who are diagnosing a pinging issue on a Mopar Magnum V8/V6 engine in a Dodge Chrysler or Jeep. Sometimes, PCV valves can fail open, causing a vacuum leak through the crankcase, sucking oil into the air intake, causing the engine to run lean (and run hotter) with pinging/spark knock. I still have a little bit of pinging, though it has decreased substantially since replacing the PCV valve.
