Karmelo Anthony files notice of appeal challenging his conviction
Karmelo Anthony has officially filed a notice of appeal challenging his murder conviction. This action comes less than 24 hours after a Collin County, Texas jury found him guilty of the fatal April 2025 stabbing of 17-year-old Austin Metcalf at a high school track meet in Frisco. On June 9, 2026, Anthony was sentenced to 35 years in prison.
