Before I became a supervisor, I used to think leadership looked easy. Like a lot of people, I sat around critiquing management, questioning decisions, and thinking I understood what leadership should look like. Then I became responsible for people. That perspective changed everything. Leadership is more than policies, numbers, and accountability. It is learning how to lead human beings through stress, pressure, mistakes, emotions, and growth while still accomplishing the mission.
