DOLLAR STORE DOGFIGHTER - How This Tiny Jet Took Down Pakistan's Best - The FOLLAND GNAT

#follandgnat #coldwarjet #aviationhistory #MilitaryHistory #1965War #RedArrowsLegacy #JetHistory2025 #Dogfight #halajeet The Folland Gnat, the compact little British jet designed by William Petter in the 1950s. Initially a lightweight fighter for cost-conscious nations, it became a legend in the Indian Air Force, earning the nickname "Sabre Slayer" during the 1965 and 1971 Indo-Pakistani wars for downing Pakistan’s F-86 Sabres. This story has been sitting on my laptop for a few months, I kept tweaking it here and there, never satisfied I did the little jet justice, but I think I finally go there, because who doesn't love this little machine, other than Pakistan's Airforce, in this video I go over the development origins of the Gnat, the Bristol Orpheus engine, and its evolution from the Midge prototype to a nimble RAF trainer and Red Arrows star. We also cover its combat role in India, including key battles and pilots like Nirmal Jit Singh Sekhon, and its HAL Ajeet upgrade by Hindustan Aeronautics. This small jet left a big mark on aviation history. ========= CONTENTS ========= 00:00:00 - Intro 00:00:15 - Chapter 1. Folland Gnat - Super Ricky 00:02:41 - Chapter 2.
