In this special episode, we are tackling the overhead framing from scratch, getting those 2x4 joists up, and securing the main plywood roof decking. It wasn’t an easy solo mission—as the work unfolded over a couple of days, we even ran out of lumber and had to pull off a crazy balancing act on the bike just to get the construction materials back to the site! 🚲🪵 But you know we can't work on an empty stomach. Mom's yard quickly turned into a full-on family cookout! Marshane steps up to the food station with his legendary "hand judgment" seasoning to cook up some traditional Brown Stew Beef and what he calls "Wild Hog" Pork over a roaring wood fire. Lorraine takes over to prep the fresh breadfruit and boiled dumplings, and before we knew it, the whole neighborhood stopped by to catch the World Cup match right on our phones! ⚽🇯🇲 From running out of wood to completely cleaning our plates, launching this new building project for Mom was an absolute vibe.
