DRIKING KAGYU Lord Jigten Sumgon (1143-1217). was the reincarnation of Acharya Nagarjuna, the second Buddha. At the age of thirty seven, in 1179, he founed the main Drikung Kagyu Monastery 90 km. Northest of Lhasa in Tibet. the Drikung Kagyu Institute, Dehradun U.K. D. was founded by His Holiness the Drikung Kyabgon Chetsang Rinpoche on October 20th, 1985 The Institute is registered under the Charitable Societies Rigistration Act XXI of 1860 and is a non-profit and non-political organisation whose main aims and objectives are to preserve, promote and to develop the Buddhist Philosophy and culture.
