Sri Aurobindo was waiting for her upstairs, on the steps of the terrace of the house where he was living at the time. At first glance, she recognized it as "Krishna," whom she had met in her visions! When they met, Sri Aurobindo confirmed the accuracy of Alma's vision, saying, "Mirra, YOU ARE SHE," meaning the Great Mother! In 1914, she fully identified with the Universal Mother. JAPAN. Mirra lived in Japan for four years. Before leaving, she had an experience with the Supreme Lord, who pointed her to the West, to India, and there, at the other end, she saw Sri Aurobindo. She felt and saw, even though her eyes were closed. Mirra: "It was after this vision, when I returned from Japan, that THIS meeting with Sri Aurobindo took place, along with the assurance that the Mission would be accomplished." RETURN. In April 1920, the Mother reunited with Sri Aurobindo in Pondicherry to work together—building the New Era. Sri Aurobindo wrote that he and the Mother, like all Avatars, were a force accelerating the course of evolution. The significance of this meeting was invaluable for the Earth and the Universe: they reached the highest level of development ever achieved by an incarnate being on Earth. In November 1926, the Sri Aurobindo Ashram was established, and Sri Aurobindo entrusted full material and spiritual responsibility to the Mother.
