A journey to discover Emperor Frederick II, one of the most celebrated and fascinating figures of the entire Middle Ages. The video describes, in just a few minutes, the life and deeds of Frederick II, emperor active in the first half of the 13th century. In particular, it presents his political decisions as ruler of the Holy Roman Empire and the Kingdom of Sicily, where he ushered in a period of great cultural renaissance. It then illustrates the events in which he played a leading role in the Holy Land, during the Sixth Crusade, and his conflict with the Italian communes and the Pope. This video is particularly suitable for students and anyone interested in understanding the fundamentals of the work of Frederick II, a figure of extraordinary importance in the history of the Middle Ages, aptly called the Stupor mundi, the Wonder (or Astonishment) of the world.
