In the 1980s, Mirja, a Finnish woman, received this jewelry set – consisting of a necklace and a pair of earrings – as a gift from her mother. It was made by the Finnish manufacturer Lapponia, but designed by Zoltan Popovitz, who was born in Hungary in 1940. Popovitz traveled extensively, and his impressions constantly inspired him to create new jewelry designs. This set appears to be influenced by the ancient cultures of South America. Crafted from 18-karat gold and black onyx, the jewelry thrives on contrasts: The materials form a strong contrast yet combine to create a harmonious whole. The condition is excellent. Since the gold is already worth €1,900, expert Wendela believes a high-priced sale of up to €2,300 is possible. The only question remaining is: Where will the jewelry set go next?
