Nihar, the youngest son of Naresh is in love with Amrita, Ritu's sister. The family fixes Nihar and Ruchita's marriage but Nihar tries to run away with Amrita but Amrita leaves London for her education and Nihar marries Ruchita without a choice but he blamed her for this and starts to hate her. Nihar's mother, Poonam, and his grandmother don't like Ruchita due to her dark skin and they try to expel her from Nihar's life. After many struggles, Nihar starts to like Ruchita and accepts her as his wife. But, Poonam and Daadi plot against Ruchita. Amrita returns to India after learning of Ruchita and Nihar's marriage and decides to separate and is assisted by Poonam and Daadi. But they fail. Amrita falsely blames Ruchita for pushing Daadi into an accident but she survives the incident. But the entire family except Nihar blames and expels her. Ruchita learns the truth about Amrita and tries to reveal it, but she poisons her. Ruchita falls unconscious and kidnaps her while the entire family believes that Ruchita is dead.
