The Cooperative Principle | Gricean Maxims | Tautology In Conversation

The Co-operative Principle: Make your conversational contribution such as is required, at the stage at which it occurs, by the accepted purpose or direction of the talk exchange in which you are engaged. The Quantity maxim: Make your contribution as informative as is required, but not more, or less, than is required. The Quality maxim: Do not say that which you believe to be false or for which you lack adequate evidence. The Relation maxim: Be relevant. The Manner maxim: Be clear, brief and orderly. I have also described that sometimes we do not follow these maxims and prefer tautology i.e. repetition of some words. #umairlinguistics #discourseanalysis Discourse Analysis:    • Discourse Analysis | Difference Between Di...   Pragmatics:    • What Is Pragmatics | Semantics VS Pragmati...   Follow me at the following platforms: You Tube:    / umairlinguistics   Follow me at Facebook:   / umairlinguistics   Follow me at Twitter:   / umairlinguist   Follow me at Instagram:   / umairlinguistics   Follow me at Tumblr:   / umairlinguistics   Follow me at Mix: https://mix.com/umairlinguist/collect...
