The PP leader cites a Randstad report that estimates 1.6 million people were absent from work during the first quarter of the year, 5% more than in the same period of 2015. Of these, 1.2 million corresponded to justified medical leave, while the remainder includes permits, justified absences, and unjustified absences. Legislation already provides for a reduction in income during temporary disability in many cases. In cases of sick leave due to common illness, no salary is received for the first three days.
