Use: 95–99% ethanol if you can not get Isopropyl is also fine, the smell would be very strong though. Avoid low-proof or denatured alcohol. Never use methanol Can I use 70% Rubbing Alcohol? Yes you can, but the result may not be as good. You may need to adjust the recipe also. My soap is cloudy. What happened? Possible causes: • Stearic acid not fully melted • Over-blending introduced bubbles • Too much water • Alcohol evaporated before dissolving completely Fix: Reheat gently on low heat and add 10–20 g more alcohol. My soap is partial clear and partial cloudy This means cooling happened too fast. You probably put the soap batch in the freezer for fast cooling. Fix: Place mold in a warm place (room temp), not fridge. Soap stays soft for days, it most likely happen to the new optimized ultra clear recipe. Causes: • Too much alcohol • Glycerin increased too much • High humidity Fix: Let it cure longer or reduce alcohol by 10–20 g next time. Soap separates while mixing Oil was too cool or lye was too cool. Fix: Bring both phases back to 80–95°C and whisk blend again. Can I add essential oils? Yes, but add very little (0.5–1%). Too much fragrance = cloudiness. Can I color the soap? Use transparent colorants (mica will make it cloudy). Liquid dyes or water-soluble dyes work best. Can I turn this into Melt & Pour Soap? Yes! This recipe is a transparent base and can be remelted. Add a tiny bit of sugar or sorbitol to improve flexibility. Hints: 1. Follow the formula closely For the best results, please stick to the formula as closely as possible. If you change ingredients or are not precise with your measurements, the final result may be different. 2. Always test in small batches first Before making a large batch, always do a small test batch. Even though I’ve made this same recipe many times, I still run small tests every time. There are two main reasons for this: First, humidity and room temperature can affect the final result. If you’re working in a different environment, you may need to adjust the recipe slightly. Second, I often change suppliers or raw materials. Even the same ingredient from a different source can behave differently, so I always test before committing to a full batch. For example, in my first test batch, I used fractionated coconut oil from last year. For some reason, it didn’t work as expected. It might have been mixed with other oils, or I may have used it previously for oil infusion — I’m honestly not sure anymore. The result wasn’t as clear as I expected, and it also had a yellow tint. So I had to redo the recipe using a fresh coconut oil that I purchased just a few days ago — and that batch worked much better. 3. Please don’t leave question for me in the comment It’s very difficult for me to do problem solving without seeing your entire process from start to finish. Even small differences in temperature, timing, or ingredients can completely change the result. If you followed all the steps exactly and it didn’t work, I strongly recommend watching the full video again, especially the FAQ If it still doesn’t work after that, please try: • Changing your source of raw materials • Using a different brand or type of coconut oil • Using a different type or brand of alcohol and glycerin. • Making the soap again at a different time or in a different environment Sometimes the issue isn’t the method — it’s the ingredients themselves. Because of this, it’s very hard for me to troubleshoot individual cases through comments. I worked very hard to develop this recipe, and I’m sharing it for free so more people can learn and try it themselves. I plan to remake and update this video every year, so if there are any improvements, changes, or better methods, I’ll always share them with you here.
